Is it ok to Attempt Doing Something While Praying “If it’s not for me, God stop me”?
I want to address a quick topic about prayer. See, sometimes people know that something is most likely not right, an example of this might be getting into a relationship where they are dating someone they know that God does not approve of. But they pray something like this; “God, to confirm that this is not the right person, let that person when I go to ask them out, tell me NO…” Now will God answer that sort of prayer? Because most likely, the person they are trying to date is on Satan’s side. What ends up happening, is they go to that person, they ask that person out, and that person of course says they will go out with them, so then they think; “It must be God’s will that we date each other.” And then they get themselves into a bad relationship. A lot of people pray but they are praying for things against the Holy Spirit and they are asking God to show them signs even though they know what they are praying for is not right. If your conscience is already pricking you, then don’t test God. If your conscience tells you that something is not of God, this is not right, then don’t ask God for a sign to prove to you it’s not right, when you know it’s already not right. Because the sign that God may allow you to see maybe a false sign from Satan to test your own heart, to see if you really will go the right way, or if you just want some kind of a sign. If you want a sign, the devil can quickly give you a sign. But God gave you your conscience. In your conscience you know right from wrong, you know good from evil. And if you know something is evil then don’t do it. And if you know something is truly of God then have feet that are quick to N to OBEY! And if you genuinely aren’t sure, then you aught to just pray and say; “Lord, help me to just do whatever is right, I’m not sure what the right thing to do in this situation is, but please put it on my conscience to do whatever is HOLY, whatever is just, whatever is pure and right before my LORD. (But do not assume and jump in front of God) Pray to Him but make SURE that your conscience is really CLEAR, because many people are praying, but they are praying against their conscience. That is dangerous to do because GOD gave your conscience to you. Your conscience is your spiritual ear to hear the Holy Spirit, and you shouldn’t pray against your conscience because you might just be praying against the Holy Spirit.
