How To Fix Grandma's Crystal Light Fixture
Electric Pro Academy - Real skills to make real money.
Synopsis:
It seems to us here at EPRO that the large majority of things with broken parts get replaced in entirety. Why is that?! In our experience, a replacement takes more time than a repair, costs more money, and may not match the aesthetic around it.
Cue this video! If you’ve ever had a fixture that you’d like to keep, but some of the electrical components are damaged, it is often easier than you may think to find parts and set them good-as-new. In this instance, the socket in a 1938 crystal light fixture was broken, and given similar fixtures throughout the house, replacing the socket rather than the whole light was definitely the way to go. We’ll break it down step-by-step, share our tools and parts, and help you, whether you’re a homeowner or an electrician, consider the cost of such an operation.
