Congress VS The CONSTITUTION: The Gun Control + Jan 6 Nightmare

Congress has recently undertaken two unconstitutional activities: the passage of the "Bipartisan Safer Communities Act" and the January 6 commitee hearings, also known as the modern day "show trials." On the first count, the "Bipartisan Safer Communities Act," also known as the bipartisan gun control compromise, includes funding for red flag laws, mental health resources, school safety measures, and increased scrutiny of 18-21 year old gun buyers. Senator John Cornyn of Texas and Senator Chris Murphy of Conneticut both led this initiative to clear a procedural vote Tuesday night, June 21st 2022. Now it goes for a full vote in the U.S. Senate sometime in the recent future.

The January 6 trials, meanwhile, have used the levers of Congress to advance a political cause in an epistemically frought way. Mr. Watson explains how both of these measures contravene the Constitution and it's deeper moral ethos, which is tied to America's affirmation of natural law, natural rights, and objective morality. He explains how Senator Cornyn and co are thus in full revolt against the Constitution and should be scrutinized for this reason. He calls back to first principles and urges his listeners to recognize that it is congress vs the Constitution, and they must choose which side they're on.
