Great Blue Heron Rolls an Egg 🥚 6/20/22 06:43

After shaking off the dust and pollen from its feathers, we are treated to a close-up of the Heron rolling a pale blue egg. This helps to keep the embryo's temperature even throughout the egg along with making sure the membrane doesn't stick to the shell. It is also believed that rotating the egg helps to evenly distribute Albumem (mixture of water and protein), which provides protein to the developing chick.
FYI: Use the settings feature to slow down the playback of the video if the rolling of the egg can't be seen.
