Juneteenth: Is the Historical Story Being Whitewashed?

Juneteenth is also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Liberation Day.

Juneteenth was created as a commemoration for Union army general Gordon Granger’s reading of federal orders in the city of Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, proclaiming all slaves in Texas were now free.

The Republican Party of Texas emerged in Houston on July 4, 1867, with 150 Black Americans.

Two of the first three statewide leaders of the Republican Party of Texas were Black Americans.

The first 42 Black Americans elected to the Texas Legislature were all Republicans.

To reverse the political gains of Black Americans and destroy the message of Juneteenth, Democrats formed the KKK and other political direct action organizations to suppress the black voice and vote in US politics, not only in Texas but across America.

Democrat Woodrow Wilson continued the tradition of suppressing Black American voices by supporting segregation in the Federal Government.

Democratic President Joe Biden signed Juneteenth into the register as a Federal Holiday but made no apologies for the history of Democrat suppression, murder, and corruption of the Black American community.

Has the Democrat party co-opted Juneteenth?

Will the message and history of Juneteenth and the emancipation of the slaves be remembered?
