Fishing Small Creeks For Rainbow Trout / Michigan Trout Fishing Videos

In this Michigan fishing video I am fishing small creeks for rainbow trout! Truth be told I was after Coho Salmon until I hooked into the biggest rainbow trout Ive ever caught. Normally I toss little spinners for trout but since I was targeting Coho Salmon I was tossing big spinners and the result was big rainbow trout! I was also fishing with Skein a lot which mostly resulted in loads of creek chubs but it also resulted in a few nice rainbow trout! I also did a bit of center pin fishing and decided to try paring it with my Plusinno telescopic fishing rod which was too stiff but easily portable and convenient for the situation I was in. After catching a new personal best rainbow trout I was motivated to forget about salmon and target big rainbow trout instead.

Lake trout and most other trout live in freshwater lakes and rivers exclusively, while there are others, such as the steelhead, a form of the coastal rainbow trout, that can spend two or three years at sea before returning to fresh water to spawn (a habit more typical of salmon). Arctic char and brook trout are part of the char family. Trout are an important food source for humans and wildlife, including brown bears, birds of prey such as eagles, and other animals. They are classified as oily fish.

The name "trout" is commonly used for some species in three of the seven genera in the subfamily Salmoninae: Salmo, Atlantic species; Oncorhynchus, Pacific species; and Salvelinus, which includes fish also sometimes called char or charr. Fish referred to as trout include:
