Durga Puja - A 3D tribute to Durga.

Nomoshkar, and Heartiest best wishes for sharadiya to you.

This is a little screencast I made in Blender of the Indian goddess, Durga.

She is widely revered at this time of year, and celebrated in large street parties called Durga Puja, in which there are lots of drums.
This too, has lots of drums.

I was introduced to it by Sayanti, primarily when she'd mentioned wanting to do some Durga Puja recipes for Cooking with Moumita - I'd done some research into what we could do, and learning more about the celebration itself, and what Durga represents: her triumph in the battle of good and evil: a sentiment we can all get behind at the moment, I'm sure.

The events themselves are so lively! I've had a soft spot for Indian-themed drums and dance through Goa psytrance, but these drums are the opposite - they're grounding, natural and I want to say shamanic?

The rituals, the drums and dance, and the mesmerizing incense dancers, the dhunuchi -there's such a festive spirit in the air that you can see even through watching videos of them, though this year it will be different for India: in the same way it has and will affect sacred, festivities all over the world.

শারদীয়ার আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা সবাইকে
