The Mercey Brothers - Home Along The Highway

She was standing by the highway, I was trucking on down the road
I was moving freight to Denver, and she looked so wet and cold
So I threw the binders on my rig and I pulled off to the side
She hopped up in the cab with me and thanked me for the ride

Well she said she lived in Denver, she was going back home again
She went chasing around the country with some Colorado friends
We talked the night away it seems and when we hit the Utah line
Lord, she stole my heart, stole my soul, stole my lonesome mind

By the time we got to Denver, we couldn't say goodbye
So we loaded up and headed out of that city in the sky
She's been with me ever since, and I recall the time
When she stole my heart, stole my soul, stole my lonesome mind

She's my South Dakota badlands, she's my Minnesota rain
She's my Louisiana bayou, my rolling Texas plain
She's my California sunshine, my Colorado smile
She's my home along the highway, she's with me every mile

Some times she takes the wheel awhile when we're pulling a heavy load
And she sings those country songs to me as we move on down the road
And when we go to sleep at night I dream about the time
When she stole my heart, stole my soul, stole my lonesome mind

She's my South Dakota badlands, she's my Minnesota rain
She's my Louisiana bayou, my rolling Texas plain
She's my California sunshine, my Colorado smile
She's my home along the highway, she's with me every mile

She's my South Dakota badlands, she's my Minnesota rain
She's my Louisiana bayou, my rolling Texas plain
She's my California sunshine, my Colorado smile
She's my home along the highway, she's with me every mile
