Block & Company is proud to announce that Alex Block of the firm was nominated as one of Big Brothers Big Sisters of KC’s ‘2020 Most Wanted Honorees’ for his charitable work and fundraising efforts for the mentorship program.

“I have been attending Big Brothers Big Sisters events for the last 7 years since I moved back to Kansas City. Each year, we put together a team for the Big Brother Big Sister Legacy Golf Tournament and a couple years back, I spoke with one of the volunteers at the event about becoming a matchmaker and decided to make the commitment. I've been a matchmaker for a couple of years now but I have always felt that I had more to give. A few years ago, I told myself I wanted to become a “big” in the program and last July, that dream came true. My little Alijah and I have been matched for 1 year and almost 3 months now and it's one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Seeing the impact that the program is able to have on a child's life is really amazing. The BBBS Most Wanted Auction is one of the largest events that the organization hosts and all the proceeds go to matching up the remaining 280 kids that are left waiting for a big brother or sister. I feel honored to be given the chance to do whatever I can to see that none of those children have to wait any longer,” Alex Block stated.

The BBBSKC program is free to Littles and their families, but it costs $1,500 to support a match for a year and $250 to recruit each new Big.
