Lauren Quigley picked up three silver medals at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014, with the 50m Backstroke the highlight (4th in 100m Backstroke) and 7th fastest in the world at 50m and 100m Backstroke following the 2015 World Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia 2015.

Lauren continues a tradition of world class swimmers in her family, her mother Yvonne Stanley having swum internationally and her aunt Gaynor Stanley having competed for Team GB at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

She underlined her potential as a 16-year old, winning her first British senior medal with 50m Backstroke bronze at the 2011 British Gas Swimming Championships, then adding silver on her international debut at the European Junior Championships in Belgrade.

After making two finals at the Olympic Trials in London 2012, Quigley repeated the feat at the European Short Course Championships in Chartres, finishing sixth in the 50m Backstroke and seventh in the 100m Back.

Having won her first national title with 100m Backstroke gold at the 2013 British Gas Swimming Championship, Lauren impressed to reach the 50m Backstroke final and 100m Back semi-finals on her World Championship debut in Barcelona later that year.
She completed her set of British titles with the 50m and 200m Backstroke crowns in 2014 before competing in her first Commonwealth Games for England at Glasgow 2014, winning Silver in the following events, 50m Backstroke, 4x100m Medley Relay and 4X100 Freestyle relay
