Gorillas

Gorillas are the largest of the hominoids. Males, in particular, can develop colossal physical strength.

Gorillas live in groups in tropical or subtropical forests, where they feed on plants and sometimes insects. Their presence covers a small percentage of Africa and they are endangered species. They are found at a wide variety of altitudes. Mountain gorillas live in the cloud forests of the Virunga Mountains, ranging in altitude from 2,200 to 4,300 m. Western lowland gorillas live in the dense forests and swamps of the lowlands.
