People Don't Understand Capitalism: Debunking Corporate Aesthetic
People don't understand capitalism, in this video debunking Corporate Aesthetic much like others like Second Thought he speaks in reference to today's economy in countries like the United States. His argument would stand to reason if capitalism was the style of economy we live under today, but it isn't. It's the same old argument proving that people don't understand capitalism and what defines capitalism.
As pointed out, capitalism is defined by the free market economy, it is the separation of economics from government involvement in the marketplace. The fact he tries correlating protectionist tariffs and government subsidies to that of capitalism proves he's clueless. Not only this, he lies about the Nazi Germany economy claiming the government left business people be free. To claim that a strongly authoritarian dictatorial regime limited government intervention in the economy is the most ridiculous claim somoene could make. As I've pointed out from the book titled 'The Vampire Economy' it addresses business in the Nazi Germany economy and disproves the erroneous claims debunking Corporate Aesthetic.
If people are going to critique capitalism they need to actually make logical arguments against what capitalism is. Capitalism is NOT corporatism, it is the free market economy, an individualist system that has nothing to do with collectivism.
Again, if you look at the synonyms for collectivism you will find socialism listed in just about every source you could possibly find and even researching both definitions of collectivism and socialism you'll see why they are synonymous. To then correlate capitalism with a strongly collectivist regime in history is completely irrational.
The argument about workers coops again is just irrational because the only way they could ever work is within a capitalist system and there is no guarantee that companies in general are guaranteed success. To contrast workers coops to that of private businesses under corporatism and claim that the reason for the failure of small businesses is somehow to blame on capitalism is simply ludicrous. If anything, the absence of the capitalist system is why there is so much failure, as I've argued numerous times before, government subsidies result in incompetency.
True private ownership is not the same thing as faux private ownership whereby the state strongly regulates the private sector, but of course, the likes of Corporate Aesthetic wouldn't wish to touch upon this fact.
