A lovely and easy to make treat for the whole family to enjoy.
Here we make burgers from scratch for less than £1 per serving.

Ingredients needed:

500g Mince (I used 20% fat mince)
4 Buns (I used brioche but any will do)
1 Large Egg
3 slices of bread (I used white, medium sliced)
1-2 tbsp Ketchup
1-2 tsp Hot sauce (optional)
1 tbsp Paprika
1-2 tbsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Soy Sauce
Pinch Cumin

Method:

Place mince in a large mixing bowl
Add breadcrumbs from 3 slices of bread (crusts removed)
Add all the other ingredients and mix well.
Form burger shapes. The mix is sufficient to make 4 large burgers or up to 6+ smaller ones, all depends on what size burgers you like.

Let the burgers rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour, to set and stop them coming apart when cooking.

Once firm and set, fry in a little oil for about 2-3 minutes on either side to seal the burgers.
Place on a baking tray and cook in an over @ 180 C for approx 10 minutes, turning half way through cooking. Ensure you cook until the burger is fully cooked. Add a slice of cheese per burger for the last minute if you'd like Cheese Burgers.
Place buns in oven to toast for 1 minute (while the burgers are finishing with the cheese on or for the last minute if you're not having cheese on)

Remove buns and burgers from oven. Dress with whatever you like on your burger and serve on it's own or with fries.

A delicious treat and so much nicer than shop or fast food bought.
