The Central Asian nation's been rocked by days of unrest, triggered by increased fuel prices. An anti-terror operation is launched in Almaty with reports of shoot-outs between security forces and protesters. Authorities say dozens of rioters were killed, as they tried to storm government and police buildings overnight. A local journalist tells us about the unrest in his city. Desperate measures in desperate times: France reportedly allows Covid-infected medics with no or few symptoms to work, amid major hospital staff shortages and a heated debate in parliament over whether to roll out vaccine passes.
