CHEAP Cordless Tool Batteries?? Too Good to be True? | Unboxing and Review | 2020/35

Tool Batteries are expensive. In fact, they are probably more expensive than the actual tools in some cases. The average battery is $100.00, the average tool is $79.00! No wonder the tool manufacturers offer regular sales where you buy two batteries for $99.00 and get a free tool, they are probably making a killing selling you more batteries!

Well, there is always the option of buying an aftermarket battery. For nearly half the price you get a battery that performs as well as the factory battery, or so we hope. There is no guarantee as to the quality or the construction if they are the same specifications. All the batteries are made overseas, it’s the tool company that makes them their own. In the case of Ryobi, we know there is internal battery management hardware, and external cladding for impact resistance. The aftermarket batteries do not offer either.

That said, I ran an 18V and a 40V aftermarket battery through its paces, and I was impressed with the results, and am impressed with the price. I will keep these and see how long they last. Stay tuned!
