What a Frustrating Weekend | Deer Season 2020

Well we had a doozy of a weekend.

Saturday morning Ragon got up early with high hopes of tagging a deer for the freezer. The weather was great, the wind was favorable, and we had recent trail cam pictures showing the woods were active. However it wasn’t meant to be and Ragon spent a few hours in the stand with nothing to show for it. He did see a covey of quail, though, and that was a welcome sight.

Then Saturday night we got home from a family function to discover that our steer had broken into the feed stall in the barn and ate ALL of the food in his bucket; probably 25lbs of feed, enough for a few more days. He also ate half of a bale of hay and a bag of Bonnie and Clyde’s goat treats! Come on, man!

With all that going on there is no shortage of reasons to rejoice and give thanks. We are blessed here at the GWP Homestead and we hope all of you have a wonderful, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving. Please subscribe to our channel if you are enjoying our content, and thank you all for watching!
