In this week's 51/49 segment, James dives into how the rapid consolidation of corporations across all industries in America, along with the government's marriage to corporate power has undermined one of the core tenets of this country—freedom.

Over the past 40 years, both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have voted to deregulate most, if not all major industries in America. Unfortunately, one of the unintended harmful consequences of deregulation has been massive corporate consolidation, which has resulted in an effective oligopoly across every major industry. This perfect storm of corporate consolidation along with the corporatization of government has far reaching implications, specifically limiting the real freedoms that you and I are able to enjoy.
