Ep. 61 - Hurricane Delta (During & Aftermath in Isla Mujeres)

After prepping Full Send all day on October 6th and securing her in the mangroves, we head to shore to wait for the storm to reach us. The eye passed only a few dozen miles south of us in Puerto Morales, so we got to see the brunt of the winds. Our goal throughout the night at our friend Meredith's house was to check the increase of winds on the shore every hour until we couldn't take it anymore. The intensity of the storm and a lot of Jack Daniels helped to keep our minds off the fact that our home may very well be at the bottom of the lagoon in the morning.

Luckily the only damage was a scratch to a vinyl sticker, and the Hurricane weakened from a Cat IV to a Cat II before it made landfall. There was some damage in town, but overall the Island survived well and power was on within a day. We assisted our friends at Miramar Resturant to help them get operating again as they are like family to us on the Island.

Apologies in advance for the audio, wind, camera cases, and rain made it each shot at different levels.

💥Huge THANKS to our Patrons for your continued support!!!💥
