DIY Christmas Tree Box – Hide that Hideous Artificial Tree Base!

If you have an artificial Christmas tree you know how unattractive (or just plain ugly) the bases of those trees can be. A Christmas tree box is a great way to hide that hideous trunk and it gives the whole setup a little farmhouse flair. Megan has been asking for one of these for at least a couple of years and everyone is happy to have this project checked off the list.

Megan wanted a tree box because tree skirts don’t really work for us; between the cats and the kids they are constantly messed up and they don’t do anything to hide that pitiful excuse of a tree trunk that artificial trees are known for.

This Christmas tree box is made from 1x3 boards and 5mm plywood. Quick assembly and disassembly is accomplished by using bed frame brackets and the whole piece stores very flat. We walk you through all the steps we took building this and we hope you enjoy the journey! And yes, she loves it!
