Rob Machado's Firewire Glazer Surfboard Review

Finally, here is my review of the Firewire Glazer. I wish it was in better surf but between working full time and my SoloShot failing me constantly, I only managed to get 2 days of footage. Having said that, I think the review is probably more accurate since it is in unfavorable surf.

In all honesty, I don't think 2 days is enough to really speak well about a board but in those two day and in lack luster surf, I had a ton of fun. Given the shared DNA of this board relative to the Seaside, provided it is set up correctly, the feeling you get when surfing the Glazer is very close to the Seaside, although the Glazer feels more nimble. I think they compliment each other and should be in your quiver.

Now having said that, there is probably a great deal of overlap. Where this board will shine over the Seaside is faster, steeper, and bigger waves. My 5'3" Seaside is 28.2L and the 5'3" Glazer is 28.7L. I thought maybe the 5'2" would be a better fit but lucky for me, it was the 5'3" that popped up on Craigslist. I think even though it has more foam, the fact that it is narrower and has a heavy V out the tail, it feels smaller and more nimble.

Let me know what you think of the review.

Next up, Twice Baked.
