House Republican leaders criticized the January 6 Committee’s first public and primetime hearing calling it political gamesmanship. They pledged to address issues they said American people want lawmakers to focus on and which include inflation, border security and the baby formula shortage. House Minority leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) led the news conference. Others speaking included Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN).
