Is this Guitar-Shaped MYSTERY a LOST & FORGOTTEN 1930s Prototype?

Someone brought me this thing. It looks like it might be a late 1930s Guitar Shaped Resonator Mandolin, but I've never seen another one like it. Is it a one-off, bespoke custom build? Is it a prototype for a model that never was? Who made it? Where was it made? We'll attempt to answer all these questions in this video.
