Frost Flowers & More! Exploring Southern Illinois Winter Woods.

Mrs. Kapper here, aka Sharon. I headed out to the winter woods, a part of our property located on the bluff side just to see what I could find interesting in the woods during winter. To my surprise, I discovered some beautiful "Frost Flowers" created last night by Mother Nature in the sub-freezing temperatures. The conditions have to be just right to create and catch these unique blossoms. Join me as I find some wildlife, a gentle flow of water over the sandstone and rocky outcrop scenery that will take your breath away. Also on this nature journey we'll get to see some great scenery of the rock outcroppings here on our land, some moss that is still holding on, some deer that I disturbed deep in the woods, and lots of fresh air! Thank you for joining me, I hope you get some enjoyment from today's nature and exploring journey!
