In tonights message, Mike Bickle breaks down John 15:2 and 6. Mike discusses how, in these verses, Jesus contrasted faithful and unfruitful believers - the distinction is in bearing fruit by abiding in Him until the end. Those who abide in Him can bear fruit that remains unto true greatness. Jesus identifies 3 types of believers in John 15:2 - 1) Those who bear no fruit 2) Those who bear some fruit and 3) those who bear much fruit.

“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit… If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a brand and is withered; and they…. Throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:2, 6)

Jesus warned of the tragic consequences and loss in being unfruitful. This is an unpopular subject - but we must speak “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27). The branch that is burned in John 15:6 is the branch that was taken away in John 15:2. John 15:6 interprets and expounds on John 15:2. Many minimize the terrifying realty that Jesus set forth in these two negative statements.
