Mika: The Maremma Chicken Shepard Dog

We have Maremma dogs in each of our yards to watch over the chooks during the night.

Lots of feral cats, wild pigs and foxes around here, so our dogs earn their keep. We used to have Alpaca's as guardians, but they ate to much and were all arseholes, so we upgraded to dogs.

We'll usually let a few of them out during the day on a rotation, as putting each one back in the yard when the Sun goes down is time consuming.
