Hiking Mt. Baden-Powell from Islip Saddle

Mount Baden-Powell is one of if not my favorite peak in the Angeles Forrest. I hiked this mountain for the first time around the age of 12 or around 1985. The trailhead along the Pacific Crest Trail out of Vincent Gap is probably the most popular route to the top, but I prefer the much longer route from Islip Saddle.

My friend, Tony Lopes, joined me for the hike this day. This was the most challenging this has ever been for me as the trail was covered in ice maybe 25% of the time. Microspikes were used to provide tracking and safety intermittently throughout the day.
