How To Make Turmeric & Black Pepper Pickled Onions
Here's a video about how to make turmeric and black pepper pickled onions. They're easy to make in less than 30 minutes, and great to store in the fridge and use atop salads, or on sandwiches, or in whatever you want. Recipe below!
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1/3 cup water
1 yellow onion
3 - 5 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more for spicer recipe)
1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns (or more for spicer recipe)
3 tablespoons sea salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1. Bring the water and vinegar to a boil.
2. Stack a 2 pint jar full of onion and garlic, and add the spices, salt and sugar on top. Pour the boiled vinegar and water over top, seal and let sit for 2 - 3 hours, up to overnight for best results (most tasty the longer you let them steep).
Keep in the fridge for up to a week or two.
