One of the most important things when it comes to electrification is managing thermal loads. More precisely, we are talking about the charging and the new 2022 Atlis XT Electric Pickup Truck will deliver very fast charging. Nowadays, the best possible charging options are via 400 or 800-volt DC. However, Atlis targets a 1600-volt charging. That means the XT model will offer a battery that works at 1,600 volts. Atlis claims that this battery can virtually turn into 800 or 400-volt units.

The manufacturer plans to deliver very fast charging, from 0 to 100 percent in just 15 minutes. To compare, some of the best-possible charging systems you can find are providing from 0 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. According to Atlis, the key is thermal management where the cells are heated at the beginning of the charge. Furthermore, the cells are cooled toward the end so this setup prevents the cells from growing or shorting. Lastly, those batteries will survive around 2,000 fast-charge cycles.

The brand-new 2022 Atlis XT Electric Pickup Truck will offer three different battery sizes. However, the exact specs are not available yet. From what we know, Atlis plans to provide units such as 125 and 250 kWh battery packs. Moreover, the battery will be placed between the vehicle’s robust frame rails. Most trim levels will offer two axles and some other trims will offer a six-wheel drive.

The axles will feature a fully independent suspension. That means the all-wheel-drive setup will be offered as standard. As we said at the beginning, the range-topping model will provide 500 miles of driving range. Less-capable variants will deliver 300 and 400 miles of all-electric driving range.
