The Upcoming American Civil War during The Fourth Turning

Hi, my name is Frank and I have this disturbing feeling about what is soon to come.

The Fourth Turning was a book released a couple of decades ago that discovered that humanity goes through a very rough period every four generations.

Four generations ago we had World War 2. Four generations before that we had the American Civil War.

History does not repeat exactly but certainly rhymes. Since world war 2 was fairly recent and heavily studied in classrooms around the world, it’s more likely we will avoid such an event this time around.

However, this can not be said for a civil war. There is clearly a massive cultural divide between urban and rural populations in general.

In the United States, rural populations tend to vote republican, have strong christian beliefs, protect gun rights for self defense, keep restrictive immigration policies, and believe in the individual, family and local government over centralized federal control.

Urban dwellers tend to vote democrat, have no strong beliefs, entrust and distrust the police for protection, keep loose immigration policies, and believe the federal government should have control.

Obviously, there are exceptions on an individual level but it’s fairly clear to see these differences at the macro level.

The question is how it will unravel. It seems for now that it will be centered around the second amendment which is about the right to bear arms.

The fourth generation in a cycle seems to be riddled with people losing their minds. You see this clearly with the urban dwellers support for the so called friendly protests by Antifa and Black Lives Matter groups. On the rural side, we had the entering of the capital building on January 6th.

And now you see more and more mass shootings. I fear these will continue to happen at a higher frequency due to depression, mental illness and over reliance on pharmaceutical drugs as treatment.

This will ultimately lead to the urban dwellers pushing to remove the second amendment and pushing the rural dwellers over the top into seriously considering splitting itself from the current federal government.

The American civil war in the eighteen hundreds was incredibly destructive and violent. The question is if this unravels, how violent can it get this time around.

There seems to be no compromise or willing to understand each other’s side this time around.

There are no winners in a war. We can be assured that a divided country is a weakening one.
