Utah County sheriff, attorney spar over investigation of 'ritual sex abuse'

PROVO, Utah – Utah County Attorney David Leavitt said Wednesday the reopening of a decades-old case naming him in allegations of ritual child abuse is a political attack.

“I learned that my wife and I were part of those allegations, alleging that we were guilty of cannibalizing young children and murdering young children.” He vehemently denied them.

The latest controversy started Tuesday when the sheriff's office released a brief statement that said it is looking for victims of ritualistic child sexual abuse (https://www.ksl.com/article/50414933/utah-county-seeks-info-in-ritualistic-child-sexual-abuse-investigation) as part of investigation involving several local agencies and the FBI that has been ongoing for over a year.
