Plants vs Zombies 2 - Epic Quest - Seedium Plant Showcase - Rhubarbarian - June 2022
This quest focuses on the Seedium plant Rhubarbarian and was offered between June 6, 2022 and July 4, 2022.
Rhubarbarian is a member of the Enforce-Mint family.
Costs 100 Sun
When Rhubarbarian is planted, it stuns all zombies in a 3x3 area for 5 seconds. (+0.5 seconds per even level)
When Rhubarbarian is planted, it deals 190 damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area. (+30 per level)
Rhubarbarian's punch does 50 damage (+15 per level) and stuns for 0.75 seconds (+0.25 per level) - to those zombies it does not punch off the lawn - which seems to be any normal sized zombie.
Rhubarbarian will leap up to 4.5 tiles to punch the next zombie.
Rhubarbarian will last for 16 seconds. (+1 second per odd level)
When this description came out, Rhubarbarian seemed like a weird form of Jalapeño - jumps down and punch all zombies off the lawn in a single lane. As the game play shows, it doesn't quite work like that. Feels more like a mobile version of Bonk Choy.
Even though it is not considered an instant use plant, it feels like an instant use plant.
This plant can NOT handle plant food - so it has no power up effects.
So Rhubarbarian is not quite an instant plant like Cherry Bomb or Jalapeño.
But Rhubarbarian is not quite a single-use plant like the Potato Mines , Squash, Iceberg Lettuce or Bramble Bush.
The reality is though we should think of Rhubarbarian as a MERCENARY plant.
We hire Rhubarbarian for a short while to handle a zombie mess while we concentrate on the rest of the lawn.
We should not think of Rhubarbarian as a plant which will stick around like the Sunflowers. Like barbarians and mercenaries, they have no loyalty to the player. Their only loyalty is to themselves. 😜️
Bottom Line - I'm anxious to see what this plant can do. Some times I just want to concentrate on four (4) lanes instead of five (5) and I have Jalapeño ready to clear the lane when I am ready to fortify the final lane. Rhubarbarian feels like it could take over that role since it has almost half the recharge time of Jalapeño.
Another thought is to concentrate on two (2) or three (3) lanes and let Jalapeño and Rhubarbarian control those lanes until the player is ready to fortify those.
