Three arrested when caught in a burglary in progress

On May 25, 2022, Ofc Charles Watson, a Zone 3 Burglary Unit officer, spotted a group of males running from an apartment with items from inside. Other officers responded to assist but the suspects are gone when access to the complex was gained.

Ofc Watson and the other officers at the scene canvassed the area for witnesses and are able to get a description of the suspect vehicle from surveillance video. Moving quickly the description was broadcast to other units and the search began. Later other officers spotted the suspect vehicle and performed a traffic stop. Three male suspects were detained and, eventually, stolen property from the burglary was recovered. The three suspects were charged with Burglary.

Arrested:
• Jason Diggs, age 21
• Jason Hill, age 17
• Tremeico Watson, age 17

Our job is public safety and arresting criminals. An alert officer on patrol spotted the suspicious activity, found the crime scene, and developed information to allow other officers to find the suspects. This quick action resulted in the arrest of three burglars and the return of the victim’s property. The hard work done daily by our officers does not go unappreciated.
