Salvestrols - what is it and does it work for cancer?

Salvestrols are secondary plant substances that the plant produces to protect against rot and fungal diseases. In the human body, the substances have a special effect in cancer cells. They are able to metabolize the cytochrome CYP1B1, which is only found in cancer cells, creating new molecules that can cause the cancer cell to die. Salvestrols therefore explain why eating fruits and vegetables can prevent cancer, but this only applies to organically grown plants.
