New glass bridge thrills visitors with walk over 526 metre 1, 725ft wide span in southern China

The bridge was entered in the Guinness Book of Records for its length of 526.14 meters, according to the portal Lad Bible. It is made of three layers of laminated glass, each layer having a thickness of 4.5 cm. According to Chinese media, the glass is 99.15 percent transparent, which provides a perfect view. The glass bridge over the Lianjiang River is expected to hold 500 tourists at a time, which they tested on the spot - two SUVs weighing a total of 4 tons crossed the bridge. According to the local media, the bridge will also be used by lovers of adrenaline and fashion - it will serve as a kind of bridge for bungee jumping, but also as a pier during the local fashion days. The construction of this nearly 100 percent transparent giant took three years and required approximately 300 million Chinese yuan, or 37 million euros. Glass bridges are very popular in China, as there are more than 2,000 in the country.
