Bad or inexperienced Dance Teachers

Bad/inexperienced instructors?

This individual had an instructor who was immature and somewhat inexperienced in teaching and dancing. This instructor made them feel uncomfortable and insecure.

The easy answer is find a new instructor. A good instructor should appreciate and be respectful of all skill levels, should never comment on a student's body type, should be able to accommodate the student to the best of their ability, and should encourage the student to try new/advanced/challenging styling and technique.

If you're willing to drive to a neighboring city, you might be able to expand your options. We liked making weekend trips to neighboring cities for instruction.

You are paying for this service, it is in your best interest to find an instructor that works best with you. You should find an instructor that teaches you in the best style for you, that inspires you, that makes/helps you be better.
Remember, you are the client and if a service/instruction isn't being provided then you need to find a different one.
