Joe Biden postulated a notion of "unity" in his inaugural address, saying it is the essential good his administration can offer. Other speakers, like Reverend Beaman and Amanda Gorman also talked about themes of unity in their respective speeches. Mr. Watson, however, detected a fatal flaw in their logic. He analyzes their speeches and reveals how they're using the idea of "unity" as a rhetorical and political device, rather than as a genuine political aim. Furthermore, he explains why "unity," as a concept opposite of division, is not feasible nor desirable from a correct metaphysical or epistemological understanding of the world.
In the end, he exhorts his listeners to not be wooed by ornate words, but guided by the light of the truth reinforced through rational discernment.
