KISS - Mr. Speed - Drum Cover

Kiss' fifth studio album, Rock and Roll Over, was released in 1976. It was recorded at Nanuet, New York's Star Theatre. To create the right drum sound, Peter Criss recorded his recordings in a bathroom while conversing with the rest of the band through video-link.

Three of Gene Simmons' songs are clear redesigns of Magna Graphics Studios demos: "Ladies Room" is based on "Don't Want Your Romance," "Love'Em and Leave'Em" is based on "Rock and Rolls-Royce," and "Calling Dr. Love" is based on "Bad, Bad Lovin'."

Criss performs "Baby Driver," a remake of a Peter Criss/Stan Penridge demo from Criss's pre-Kiss band Lips, as well as "Hard Luck Woman," a tune Paul Stanley intended to present to Rod Stewart but Simmons demanded Criss perform. "Hard Luck Woman" did not achieve the same level of popularity as "Beth," but it did chart in the top 20. The song "Calling Dr. Love" quickly became a concert favorite. Ace Frehley does not get a writing credit on this album, making it the first Kiss record without him.

Michael Doret, who previously collaborated with Kiss on 2009's Sonic Boom, created the artwork for the album's cover.

***Disclosure***
This video is recorded with a Drumless track that I played on drums. The drums you hear are of the sounds that Joey played, not the original drummer. The original drum track played and recorded in the original version was not used in this video.

From this video on, all drum covers will be Drumless versions, and the drums you will hear are of my sound, and the drumming will be as close to the original as possible. ***
