As the idea of “the metaverse” grows in popularity, projects selling land in their own metaverse grows more popular too. But is this really a good long-term strategy?

In this episode, Carly sits down with Lars Doucet, the Co-Founder of Level Up Labs, a consulting firm focused on blockchain gaming.

Lars is a digital land expert who has studied what happens when you sell “land-like assets” in virtual worlds. (Hint: digital economy land recessions). He explains why selling land can be a losing strategy, the situations in which it does work, and how some of these high-profile projects who have already started selling land (**cough cough Otherside, cough cough Axie Infinity**) can do from here to prevent the worst from happening.
