Don't CRASH into the Garage! | Retractable Tennis Ball Parking Aid | 2021/009

This is my 100th Video!

No one likes a tennis ball hanging in the middle of their garage to help with parking. We needed a retractable tennis ball solution. We have tried a few different things, a cardboard box was the most successful, and recently we purchased a proximity sensor that has a Stop Sign that turns from Green to Yellow, to Red as you approach. This this was garbage. I tried everything to get it set correctly, it never allowed the car to get close enough before turning red, thereby leaving the back pumper of the car in the path of the closing garage door!

My wife likes parking in the garage in the winter. It’s cold out there, it rains a lot, so I have accommodated her. That said, it is a tight fit to get her 2011 Mustang in the garage, we only have a few feet of clearance from the front to the furnace, and the back to the door. So

So, after watching a couple of videos on YouTube, I got the basics, of how I could make a retractable tennis ball parking target in my garage. With some string, a tape measure, a ladder, and of course a tennis ball I set out to solve our parking problem!
