Sexual battery suspects leads Marion deputies on a chase with a child in the vehicle

On Wednesday afternoon, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies and detectives arrested Henry Antwan Boger, Jr. (B/M, DOB: 09/14/1995) for Sexual Battery, Fleeing to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer, Child Abuse without Great Bodily Harm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Driving while License Revoked as a Habitual Traffic Offender.

On May 24, 2022, MCSO Major Crimes Detective Kip Peterson was made aware of allegations that Boger Jr. had sexually battered a victim the night before at the Microtel Inn and Suites on SW 134th Street, in Ocala. The victim advised Boger Jr. had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.

On June 1, 2022, Major Crimes detectives Kip Peterson and Donald Carpenter were attempting to make contact with Boger Jr. to interview him about the sexual battery. Boger Jr. was observed driving a white Nissan Altima in the Marion Oaks area by K9 Deputy Justin Tortora. K9 Deputy Tortora attempted a traffic stop in the area of SW 49th Avenue Road and SW 66th Street, but Boger Jr. refused to stop the vehicle.

He then proceeded to flee from law enforcement for several miles while driving recklessly at high speeds. Boger Jr. finally came to a stop at the entrance of Heathbrook Apartments, where he then fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Deputy Adrian Lewis was able to apprehend Boger Jr. and place him under arrest.

After his arrest, it was discovered that Boger Jr. chose to flee from law enforcement with a child in his vehicle, so he was charged with child abuse. Further investigation also revealed that there was a handgun in the vehicle and Boger Jr.’s driver’s license was revoked due to him being a Habitual Traffic Offender.

Detective Peterson then conducted an interview of Boger Jr. Based on the information uncovered through the investigation and the interview, Boger Jr. was also charged with Sexual Battery. Boger Jr. was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond.
