Revelation Lesson-36: The Doom of Babylon - Part II

Today we are in Lesson-36 in the series “Come Lord Jesus!” from the book of Revelation.
 
This lesson is titled “The Doom of Babylon – Part II” and our focus passage is Revelation 17:8-18.
 
Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

In our previous episode, we began our study of Revelation 17-18. In these two chapters the focus is on the fate of that entity referred to in Scripture as Babylon.
 
Babylon represents the opposition system to God driven, engineered by Satan, and led by the Beast, the Antichrist.
 
From the tower of Babel to the Babylonian empire to the Roman empire (under which John is living), Babylon opposes God and persecutes His people.

In verses 1-7 of Rev. 17, this entity, Babylon the great, is represented by a great harlot.
 
She is held responsible for the sins of the whole world, and she is going to receive the full payment of God’s wrath.

In today’s lesson we will focus on verses 8-18 and we will see how the Scarlet Beast and the Lamb of God play into the doom of Babylon.
