It is not too often that one comes across a dated live performance which was recorded onto 35mm film rather than the usual and less expensive, low-res digital video format used in the past.
Here is one such live performance.
This is Elton John performing Empty Garden at Hammersmith Odeon, London in 1982.
It is a song that him and Bernie Taupin wrote to honor the passing of John Lennon. I consider it one of his greatest performances.
Someone had the foresight to capture this performance onto film which has since been rerecorded using later digital recording equipment.
I converted this gem to widescreen format. The quality of this digital recording required only that and nothing else.
