PM Trudeau takes part in signing of $1.3B land claim settlement with Siksika Nation in Alberta

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Siksika Nation Nioksskaistamik (Chief) Ouray Crowfoot deliver remarks at a signing ceremony in Siksika, Alberta. Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Marc Miller also makes remarks. In December 2021, members of the Siksika Nation voted to accept a one-time settlement payment of $1.3 billion from the federal government over a wrongful land surrender of 115,000 acres from their reserve dating back to 1910.
