Hello!

Welcome to this Video;
✈️
In this video, we are going to be introduced with the "Boeing B-29 Superfortress", one of the most iconic US and the World Strategic Bombers, that contributed to the World War II, and helped the Allied Forces against the Axis Powers front.

The Bomber was in many theatres during the World War 2 and provided significant assistance in order for the Allied Forces to overcome the Nazi Germany and its allies.

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress, is an American heavy bomber with four engines and propellers. It was designed by Boeing, and mostly flown by the US during World War II and the Korean War. The Superfortress got its name from its predecessor, the B-17 Flying Fortress. It was made for high-altitude strategic bombing, but it was also good at low-altitude incendiary bombing at night, and dropping naval mines to blockade. The atomic bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were dropped by B-29s, which are the only planes that have ever used nuclear weapons in battle.

The B-29 was one of the biggest planes used in World War II. It was made with state-of-the-art technology, such as a pressurized cabin, dual-wheeled tricycle landing gear, and an analog computer-controlled fire-control system, that let one gunner and a fire-control officer control four remote machine gun turrets. The B-29 program, was the most expensive of the war, because it cost $3 billion to design and make, which is equivalent to $45 billion today. This is much more than the $1.9 billion cost of the Manhattan Project. The B-29's advanced design meant that it could be used for many different things throughout the 1950s. After 3,970 were made, the type was taken out of service in the early 1960s.
