Combustion in Astrology. Sun tends to harm any planet it is close to due to the amount of heat it generates. You know yourself how difficult it is to sit in the Sun for too long. These are the distance in degrees planets need to be away from the Sun in order to work well:
Mercury does well at 16 degrees away, Venus 10, Mars 17, Jupiter 11 and Saturn at 15. I personally think Mercury does well even at 6 degrees apart. Being closer than these mean the planet will be agitated ie Mercury rules the nervous system so the person might suffer with ailments to the nerves or speech, Venus could suffer from at least one tough relationship as the Sun and Venus combination can tend to rush into relationships and burn by the experience, Mars anger issues, Jupiter can be a problem with a teacher/guru, Saturn issue with confidence or people who work for you etc. Moon can also be combust, it will indicate the father was over shadowing the mother at conception.

Cazimi is when a planet is less than 1 degree from the Sun, which can bring rather unexpected results like massive wealth if it is Venus or Jupiter even though the above still apply but generally one indication of that planet is very fruitful. Does not apply to Moon.

Planetary war is when planets are within 1 degree of each other (not the Sun or Moon) just the main 5; Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Saturn. Some kind of sacrifice will happen in this case. Like Mars Venus conjunction within a degree, sacrifice sports for love or vice versa.
