Johnny Depp wins defamation case against Amber Heard

Johnny Depp has won his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
The jury found Amber Heard defamed him, in her 2018 Washington Post article, alleging she was domestically abused by him.
The jury of 5 men and 2 women reached the verdict unanimously – saying Depp had proven all elements of defamation.
The jury also found the majority of Ms Heard's allegations to be false and conveyed a defamatory implication.
She was awarded $US2 million for one of her claims, but Johnny Depp is to receive $US15 million in total damages.
Mr Depp's legal team say they are enormously grateful to the jury for their verdict – and say it is a victory for “truth and justice”.
