Omaha School Board Meeting discussing Sex ED Curriculum Standards

Omaha Public Schools decided to adopt Comprehensive Sex Education in the classroom beginning High School. Over 1500 parents showed up to protest the decision. OPS completely ignored the parents and moved forward with the decision. After weeks of meetings by the curriculum committee the board met to discuss the standards that would be taught in the schools and what age/grade level. One of the board members (Yolanda Williams) fumbled when she said she felt uncomfortable talking about the standards because the meeting was televised and her daughter was watching. There was an audible gasp from the parents in the room who obviously couldn't understand why it was okay to teach these things to our children behind closed doors but not in public. If it is inappropriate and uncomfortable for public consumption why are we pushing this Planned Parenthood pet project in the classroom?
