1996 (I believe) appearance by fiddler Ashley MacIsaac on CBC Television's Rita and Friends. The sadly now departed Rita McNeil and Ashley are both of course Cape Breton natives.
Ashley was at the peak of his commercial success on the back of the masterful Celtic Folk/Rock fusion of Hi How Are You Today, and had just released Fine Thank You Very Much. He was barnstorming around the world flying the flag for his virtuoso talents.

Please note that this is transcribed from my VHS copy recorded off air from the original CBC broadcast, so the video and audio quality will be as you would expect from such sources.

Also appearing are Paul Shaffer well known for his David Letterman bandleader stint as well as Canadian fiddlers Richard Wood (http://www.rwood.ca) and Cindy Thompson (https://music.cindythompson.ca). Additional musicians are:
Stuart Cameron - guitar
Jean Butler - Irish Dancing
Gerry Deveau - Spoons
Joel Chiasson - Piano.

Please note that copyright for this show and the content belongs to the producers of the show and the artists involved and I in no way make any claims otherwise. Neither am I looking to make any monetary gain for this material. I am posting this purely so others can also enjoy what in my mind was a very special night of Canadian Television.
