• Matt. 5:10-12 This scripture tells us some experiences that every true Believer in Christ would have, you will encounter persecution, you will have enemies, you will be slandered and misunderstood. Paul says this, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." 2 Tim 3:12. Jesus said, "Happy is the one who is persecuted. You're joining a great company, the company of the prophets. And, indeed, you will have profit in heaven—exceedingly great reward." Notice one more thing before we leave these verses. It says, "and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." Falsehood about some of the things said about you is true. It's difficult to know that lies are being said about you and you hold your peace however, God gives the grace for such.

• Matt. 5:13 Salt promotes thirst, and as the salt of the earth, we should be making those around us thirsty for the living water of Jesus Christ. People should say, "There's something about you that creates in me a thirst for what you're enjoying." Salt also preserves and heals. Therefore, if our culture is putrefying and decaying, we then, as the church, should hold back from indicting our society or critiquing our political leaders and begin preserving by repenting. "Lord, have we lost our saltiness? Have we lost our flavor and our effectiveness?"

• Matt. 5:14-16 Can you hide a city that is sitting on top of a mountain? Its light at night can be seen for miles. If we live for Christ, we will glow like lights, showing others what Christ is like. We hide our light by (1) being quiet when we should speak, (2) going along with the crowd, (3) denying the light, (4) letting sin dim our light, (5) not explaining our light to others, or (6) ignoring the needs of others. Be a beacon of truth—don't shut your light off from the rest of the world.

Personal Supplication
Father in the name of Jesus, help me not to mix my saltiness with contaminants. Help me remain sharp, pointed and focused and let my life draw others to You. Matt 5:13
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Daily Protection Covenant Declaration
Father in the name of Jesus, no matter at what points in life that I am tempted, grant me the victory at all times.
John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Because I have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For God shall give his angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set me on high, because I have known His name.
I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me.

With long life will God satisfy me, and shew me His salvation.
So shall it be for me and my household today and forever, Amen and Amen!
