A dream withing a dream and everytime I awoke
I followed it down but I wound up empty and alone

I walked thru valleys, walked thru endless fields
Crossing great rivers I stood on the cliff edge to see

And looking out over as far as the horizon would run
I saw things that might have been, I saw a setting sun

I stumbled down alleys, felt the bitter cold stare of man
Turning away in shame, counting what change I had

Heard the roar of the city echoing thru the streets
With no way out, no answers to what it all means

But deep in the cracks lay seeds that one day may bloom
If only the sunlight could find its way thru

Standing so tall these towers reach for the sky
Everything underneath has lost its way in the night

Lost in the shadows, swallowed up in concrete and steel
Apparitions in the night reaching out to feel something real

Buried underneath, each must find their own way
I`d give you some of mine but need it all to make it thru the day
